2024 NBA Draft odds: Zaccharie Risacher remains heavy favorite to go No. 1

The NBA Draft begins Wednesday and the Atlanta Hawks own the No. 1 pick.

The draft lottery was a bit of a shocker, considering the team with the worst record in the league, the Detroit Pistons, fell all the way to the fifth pick.

The Pistons, along with the Wizards, had a 14% chance to nab the No. 1 pick. Atlanta had a 3% chance.

With draft day closing in, what will the Hawks do with the pick — select the next potential superstar or trade the pick away?

Let’s take a look at the No. 1 pick at DraftKings Sportsbook as of June 26.

2024 NBA Draft — First overall pick odds:

Zaccharie Risacher, France: -500 (bet $10 to win $12 total)
Donovan Clingan, UConn: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)
Alexandre Sarr, France: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Stephon Castle, UConn: +1800 (bet $10 to win $190 total)
Reed Sheppard, Kentucky: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Matas Buzelis, G League Ignite: +10000 (bet $10 to win $1,010 total)

At this point, it appears it would be a shocker if another Frenchman in Risacher was not selected with the first pick, as his odds dropped from -250 to -500 overnight.

With that, Clingan’s odds lengthened from +280 to +500, and Sarr went from +550 to +1400.

Last season, the Spurs selected French phenom Victor Wembanyama at No. 1. He went on to lead the NBA in blocks during the regular season, win NBA Rookie of the Year (he earned all 99 first-place votes), and finish second for Defensive Player of the Year — behind fellow French big man Rudy Gobert

Risacher is a 6-foot-9 19-year-old who most recently played for JL Bourg in the Betclic Elite League in France. Risacher averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, playing an average of 22 minutes per game.

FOX Sports betting analyst Jason Mcintyre has Zaccharie Risacher as the No. 1 overall pick in his recent mock draft.

Mcintyre says that Risacher “looks like the prototypical NBA wing who can guard multiple positions and splash 3-pointers. His frame is reminiscent of Kevin Durant’s, and it could be a few years before he pops — like Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee.”
